Hey Everybody!

Just wanted to say Thank YOU! for all the love, support, comments and well wishes you guys have sent my way. The birthday party is TODAY!!!!! I took pictures of the room after I "remodeled" it but I left my camera over there. Stupid, huh? But, no! I have a terrible habit of forgetting my camera on every single birthday and holiday. I am SO not kidding. You would think that I would remember it then, sadly, I just never do. That's why I left it so that I could actually take pictures to share pictures with everyone.

I'm up earlier than I want for a Saturday but I still have some work to do. I have to finish her record skirt, wrap her presents, take a shower, not freak out, put balloons on the mailbox, make the punch, pick up the cake and something else that I don't remember right now, but I know is in there. CHAIRS! That's right, pick up the chairs. Needless to say, I've got a lot to do before two this afternoon.

Expect pictures, extra cake and one tired mom later today. Hugs to you lovely bunnies! And guys?? Really, big thanks from me, I needed it. :)

Poetry Thursday

Brian over at Truth is Freedom and Dewy at Dewy Knickers, post poetry every Thursday. I wanted to join in.

Although many times
your lips have caressed mine,
I am still awed by the tingle.
The flash of deep rose
that burns within.

It is you I crave,
you I love, only.
I am your rose
that your fire
can bring to bloom.

Have a Happy Thursday!

Antsy Pantsy

I have the house all to myself. I am all alone, at night, without my husband or my daughter. It feels weird and I'm not quite sure what to do with myself. I need to be over at the other house decorating, but I feel so antsy, I don't know that I would get that much done. Here is the big room that we are having the party in. Minus the green curtains and odd window boxes. I pulled them all down.

It's a big room and we're gonna need it. Hopefully I will get some decorating done tonight and finish tomorrow and I can post how it's going to look for the party. The change will be enormous! Now, I'm going to go figure out what to do in all this silence. It's kinda creeping me out.

Today, my princess, you are 6

A little more than six years ago today, I was at a baby shower. For me! It was also the day of my one year anniversary. Didn't waste time did we?

Oh, yeah. I had a belly. And it was full of love and anticipation. Less than a month later, you were born. I cried so hard because I thought I would die, I loved you that much. The first thing I saw was your feet, your tiny, pink feet. I love your tiny feet.

You grew so fast! A month later, you were having your first Halloween. I wanted to take you around to show you off. You were dressed like an angel, but you didn't like it much. You cried and wanted nothing to do with trick or treating or visiting the neighbors. Still, I have never seen a sweeter angel. (yes, I made the costume.)

We had our first Christmas and New Years. I am still amazed at how much you changed in that time. You went from being such a little thing to a baby girl that could sit up, eat, walk and you were even starting to talk. Sometimes I wonder about that one. Once you started talking, you haven't quit. You love to chatter, but your momma does, too. I think this picture is a sign for our future.

We had your first birthday in the house we would stay in for the longest. You loved it! And we both still miss it sometimes. That little house was ours and I went crazy painting your room. It was the first place you really had a room and I wanted to make it magical for you. You are my tiny princess, after all.

Tiny princess, Pink Lady...either way, I think your fabulous.

As you have gotten older, I have enjoyed watching you grow and change. You are a constant bright spot in my life and I don't know how to tell you the joy you bring out in me. We've had tough times together, but we always stuck together. You soothed me sometimes when no one else could. Thank you for sneaking in my room, late at night, when I was crying. Thank you for laying on me, petting my hair and saying, "mommy, you be okay. you be okay." You were so little when you did that, but you knew your mommy was sad and you are such a caring person, even then you shared your compassion. You have such a big heart and are willing to share it with others.

You are kind and lovely. You are smart and oh, so, so funny. You still make this face when you are mad:

In all the ways that you have grown, I am proud to see how truly wonderful and kind you are. You are my radiant sunshine. You are my shining star. You are a blessing and I thank God for you every day of your wonderous life.

Thank you for being mine. I love you so much on this, your 6th birthday, a little more than yesterday. Tomorrow, I will love you more again. Remember, baby, love is infinite, I can always give you more.

Happy Birthday from Momito.

Copper Go Round

My Newest!
Copper Go Round Bangle
Made entirely from copper and already in my shop!
Go Looksy!

Hello!! HELLOoOoOOO!!!

Oh, I'm so glad to be back among the living! I have missed so much!! I'm trying to catch up with everybody, but I'm being a little slow. I've been super busy today working on party decorations! WOO! I have spray paint all over one hand, so I look slightly diseased. I am happy with the way it's coming along, though. Painted jukeboxes, records, music notes and enough streamers to make any soon to be six year old scream with delight!

Speaking of, I've got to scoot and get baby girl from school, but I'm hoping to post some pics of a new, all copper bangle that I did this weekend. Stay tuned! I'll be back later!!

WhatColor Is Your Aura?

I'm not dead.

Aren't you happy? I know I am! Thank you all for stopping by and wishing me and baby girl back to health. She's doing much better, I'm still a little run down. Felt a lot better yesterday, but by three, I was beat. So back on the sofa I went, watching the rest of LOST season 2, on DVD. Slothra returns!!!

I have managed to accomplish a few things. I did an interview with Dewy over at Get Your Daily Knickers! That was fun. It's about, well, just go read it. Everyone should check out Dewy! She's quite cheeky!! I also sold 2 pieces (HUGS to Blurr!!). I was pretty excited about that and I even got it mailed out! That was a big deal. OH! I almost forgot. I got my new wallpaper in for kitchen #2. Look at how pretty:

I got it from Naked & Angry. Very neat place that you can submit your own designs to and if enough people like them, they make wallpaper and neckties from your designs. Kiwi sent me that way and she has a few designs up, too!

About the only other thing is my daughter is trying to kill us with her birthday party. At first, it was only six kids. Okay, yeah that's cool. Then it was a few more from class. Then her teachers, too. Then yesterday, it's every person in her class, both her teachers and the kids whose parents can't bring them, well her mom can go pick them up. Guys, she goes to public school, so there are a LOT of kids in her class. When we added it all up for her, including grandparents and our friends outside of school, IT WAS SIXTY PEOPLE. That's more people than we invited to our wedding! So, after getting Mom Voice on, I told her no more inviting people. No her mom is NOT going to pick up random children that want to come to the party but their parents can't bring them. For the last time, NO I am not building a stage for you to sing on. (sigh)

Sadly, the damage is done. Invitations go out Monday, to every kid in class. "You're still inviting them all?", you ask. Yes. She told them they could come and we are not a family of giving invites and then taking them back. Plus, if her teacher comes, the children won't be too crazy. Fortunately, it's going to be in the empty house in the big room, so it won't be too bad. I hope. Come early because parking is going to be a bitch.

I guess that's about it. Wait, I did get a traffic citation yesterday for dropping my daughter off at school like I have for the last month. Since I haven't had a ticket of any kind in EIGHT YEARS, I was upset. It's a long story, one that I will tell you later. But for now, I gotta go. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Big hugs and smushes to you all. ( I can give hugs again!!!)

OH WAIT! I FORGOT SOMETHING IMPORTANT!!
**** HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRAMMY!!!!****
We LOVE you!!

And one last thing: If you buy jewelry from me today, via Dewy's blog, mention Dewy Knickers in the message box and I will give you 10% off your order!!

I don't feel so well

Yesterday, I got up and was a little crappy, but not too bad. I figured if I worked in the house, kept moving, my body would just get over it.

Then, I woke up today. My body is NOT over it and now it's angry at me. I think the bug that my daughter (still) has finally got to me. I hurt and I want to lay down and sleep, sleep, sleeeeeep. I tried to go by and check on all of my blog buddies, but I'm sick of being in an upright position. I have pieces I need to be working on and 3 things that need to be shipped, but it's all going to have to wait. Fortunately the things that need to be shipped aren't orders, they are presents of one sort or another.

I wanted to let you all know I'm not being assy, I just don't feel well. I'm climbing back into bed and I will talk to you all later. No hugs this time, I don't want to pass on the sickies.

Pavel ROCKS!!

THANK YOU!! YOU MADE MY DAY!!
Hugs and Smushes!

Updates part Two and Why I Hate the Grocery Store

My daughter is doing okay. She has a viral infection that is making her boogery and coughy. She's not running a fever, but she sounds terrible. Since it's a virus, there isn't much we can do but give her Robitussin and snuggles. She likes the snuggles better than the Robitussin. All in all, she is doing okay and may be able to go to school tomorrow, just depends on the boogers. Sorry to be so gross, but all you parents out there know exactly what I am talking about.

Okay, now what could be so bad to make Pinky hate the grocery store? Well, it's not Kroger's fault, not really. I like them a lot, they have 10 for 10 sales and I can buy in bulk, so that's cool. And they are nice there. So I guess I'm just taking my anger out on the grocery store instead of where it needs to go.

When we moved to this house, the kitchen was big and kinda ugly. Green cabinets that didn't match each other, stained counter tops, you get the idea. So we ripped it all out. Yep, all of it. Walls included.

We had plumbing problems and electrical problems, but we were optimistic! We waited f o r e v e r to get the cabinets in, but they were worth it. Japanese maple, custom made for out kitchen with my designs as the template. I wanted sleek and classy. I got it and I was soooo happy!! Beautiful stainless sink, extra wall mount oven, and the quietest dishwasher on the market. Oh, it was a dream. I always wanted a large kitchen and now I had it and it looked fabulous.

But, this is where the problem comes in. It's not done. Nearly a year later and it's not done. See the spot where the stove that matches the oven that matches everything else is supposed to go? Hmm?? See it?

Yes, well it still looks like that. I don't have a stove. I cook everything out of the microwave or a little toaster oven. If I run them both at the same time? I blow a breaker. And my wonderful, uber quiet dishwasher? It's quiet all right, because it's never been hooked up, so it's just a glorified drying rack. I wish I was kidding. I still hand wash dishes and put them in the dishwasher of the gods to dry.

So folks, unless it can be microwaved or will fit in a dorm sized toaster oven, it ain't getting cooked here. Do you understand now why the grocery store makes me angry? It's because it mocks me all the way through. "You could eat us for dinner, Pinky! Oh, wait, you don't have a stove! HAHAHAhAHA!!"

Updates

Hey all! Thanks for posting to my meme, I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to anyone. My daughter has been sick and my husband hurt his back. So, I've been busy with them all weekend. I have to take her to the doctor in a little bit, so I will keep you posted. I wouldn't be so worried, but she just finished a 10 day run of antibiotics, so whatever is making her ill now, toughed it out and refused to be shut down by Augmentin. My hubby is doing better after lots of heat packs and some pain killers. G, just wanted you to know, I did catch the reference to the song. My dad was all rock and roll growing up so my love lies in the "classics" HA! Hope everyone is well and I'll post later today. My love to you all!

p.s. I think I might make the shirt. ;)

New stuff and another MEME

First up, my newest creation! Also, you get to check out the new neckform I got. This will be in my shop later.

Knot Your Average Necklace
Cocoa suede, hemp and Italian matte glass

Next up, the MEME! I got double tagged by Blurr and Miss 1999, so I'm doing 16 meme's! WOO Here you go:

1. I worked at a picture framing shop for 6 years and I have framed cool stuff like drawings from the 1800's, opium pipes, a wedding dress, WWII medals and even an original Ansel Adams.

2. I'm only 5'4" but my legs are as long as my 6 foot tall husband.

3. I have owned 7 cars; wrecked 3 and mechanically killed 3.

4. I never finished college.

5. My I.Q. is two points below genius.

6. I have had ten knee surgeries: five on each leg.

7. I really, really like eating raw hot dogs.

8. I still have my baby blanket.

9. I had three years formal training in opera.

10. I can play the piano, dance, ice skate, act, write, design, paint, sing, compose and I'm pretty wicked with throwing stars.

11. I have never been to Disney World or Disney Land. I have been to the Disney Store at the Riverchase Galleria, though.

12. I have been to New York only once and could have stayed there for the rest of my life.

13. I love monkeys. They make me happy.

14. I sing in the shower. Loudly.

15. I like taking a drive and getting lost. I always find my way back home and I get to find new places in the process.

16. I cannot, in any way possible, sleep with my back to the outside of the bed. Childhood nightmares die hard, people, they die hard.

There! That's it! Aren't you impressed? Don't you want a T-shirt that says "Pinky Rocks" on it? Well, doncha? I hope everyone had a Happy Friday!!

Remember, originally uploaded by Pinky's Inspiration.

There are a million things that I could say about this day, but I think my piece says enough. My love to all of you.

Pinky's meme

Okay, so I got tagged by the wonderful GG and now I have to write 8 things/habits/facts about me. This was substantially harder than it should be. I mean really, this is me we're talking about! I've dawdled enough today, so here it is:

1. I was once offered to skate with Walt Disney World on Ice, Eurpoe Tour and I turned it down.

2. Although I have self esteem issues, I am extremely vain about my hair.

3. I think my husband is sexy as hell and he still gives me butterflies in my stomach and chills down my spine, every single time he kisses me.

4. I eat the exact same thing for breakfast and lunch every day: 2 waffles and a hot tea (breakfast) one ham and cheese Hot Pocket and a handful of Kettle Cooked chips with a Diet Coke (lunch)

5. I miss my skinny jeans.

6. I am the first granddaugher and my daughter is the first great-granddaughter.

7. I want to have another baby.

8. I am happier being at home than I ever thought I could be.

Okay, there it is! Who's on deck? These lucky folks: Pavel, Blurr, Orlando, RNG, Mindtwister and ButterflyChic!

Your turns!!

I haven't forgotten about the meme

We went to a birthday party yesterday and I was completely pooped from that. How can a party wear you out so much? Could it be that 10 children cracked out on sugar and party goodness just make me tired? Yes, I think that is entirely possible. My daughter wants to have a Rock and Roll birthday party which I think is cool. Until she told me that she wants me to build a stage so that she can perform. Um, no, I don't think that will be going down. I will, however, be turning our empty rental house into a giant dance hall. Streamers, balloons, records, glitter and I'm even going to make a disco ball. Oh yeah, it will be quite the Rock and Roll party.

I promised my daughter that we would make a giant pallette in the floor, eat popcorn and watch a movie of her choice (NOT Alice in Wonderland. God I hate that movie) so Pinky's meme will be showing up later. Also, I think I'm going to follow GG's example and use photos. That looked cool, and who doesn't love a visual? Oh, I did get a little un-lazy and post 2 of my pieces to my shop. The burgandy wire one is now in there, go look! Look, I say!! Until later, have a Happy Sunday.

Lots of new stuff I haven't put in my shop yet!

For my girlfriends...

Watch out for this scam !!!

READ CAREFULLY!I don't how many of you shop at Sam's Club or Costco, but this may be useful to know. I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. This happened to me and it could happen to you!!Here's how the scam works:Two seriously good-looking 23-year-old well-built guys come over to your car as you are packing your shopping in the trunk. They both are shirtless and start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their highly-defined chest muscles and rock-hard abs exposed.
It's impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to another Sam's Club or Costco.

You agree and they get in the back seat. On the way, they start talking dirty about what they want to do to you. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and begins kissing your neck and begs you to pull over so he can make love to you!!

While this is going on the other guy steals your purse!!I had my purse stolen last Tuesday, Wednesday, twice on Thursday, again on Saturday, yesterday, and most likely tomorrow!

*** A friend of mine sent me this and I just had to share. Happy Friday, indeed.***

Dancin', Dancin', DANCIN'

I just sold TWO pieces within an hour. HOW COMPLETELY AWESOME IS THAT?? I sold the Off the Record necklace (look one post down) and the Raw and Radiant cuff that I made this summer. I also had one of the buyers tell me I should charge way more than I do for my pieces. She's not the first one to say that, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to up pricing. You know? Hell, I don't know. Having lower prices may seem like the work isn't worth it, but having higher prices may seem like I think too much of myself.

I didn't mean to get mired down in that. I'm happy dancin' and packaging and mailing 2 pieces!! WOOOO!
Everybody dance!!!

Creative Challenge #16

I just finished this piece for JewelStreet's Creative Challenge # 16!! The challenge is to create a piece out of the color she picks. This is what I came up with:

Off the Record
By:

Go check it out! This was a lot of fun and I have never done anything like this. The challenge continues till the end of the week if anyone else wants to join in! (hint, hint, Blurr!!)

Part One

Would you like to hear a story? Of course you would! So, go grab a new cup of coffee or a soda, tell your boss you're on a conference call and get comfy.

Elisandra was married at a young age to an attractive man named Michael. The pair were well matched, both being from farming families they were comfortable enough in income to be above poverty, yet not be aristocratic. Elisandra, being a beautiful woman of milk-white skin, high cheek bones and hair the color of leaves in autumn, was sought after many young men. But it was Michael that had captured her. He made her laugh, the kind of laugh that fairies would have, that made your heart feel free and childish. In a lot of ways, Elisandra was still very much a child, although the fullness of her figure suggested a more womanly age.

In contrast to the lightness of Elisandra, Michael had dark skin, coal black hair, and eyes that shone a deep amber under well lidded brows. His smile was gentle and expansive. The deep laughter that boomed forth filled rooms with amusement. He was a hearty man with ambitions and desires and the determination to reach the lofty goals he set forth. Elisandra was one of those goals. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and the moment he glanced into her pale, blue eyes, he was stricken. There would be no other man for her, Michael knew he would be all she ever needed.

Within six months of their first meeting, they were wed. It was a joyful occasion, one as much for love as for business. The joining of the two families would provide a considerable income within the farming industry and Michael was slated to have it all when Elisandra's father passed. Their wedding day was filled with laughter and cheers of elation. Two families joined by this stunning couple were toasted and wished well for their marriage in the hopes of children and a long life together. Elisandra nearly floated to their room where she would spend the first night with her husband.

With her head filled with champagne and naive ideas, Elisandra dressed in her silk gown. Handmade by her grandmother for just this night, she studied herself in the mirror. Long layers of silk draped her voluptuous body. Adorned with ribbons and lace she simply shone with pure beauty and innocence. Her cheeks were pinked from alcohol and excitement, tinged with unknowing anticipation. Elisandra had never been with a man and was as scared as she was longing. Her first night with her husband was one to remember. She took one last look in the mirror to adjust the silk and ribbons and entered the wedding chamber.

Whatever Elisandra had imagined, Michael had other intentions. This was not the first woman he had been with and he had long forgot how to be gentle in times like these. His kisses were no longer soft and sweet, but hungry and hard. His hands were too fast for Elisandra, it was too quick, she was too scared and Michael was too lustful to notice. Trying to slow things only made Michael more fierce. The usual warmth in his eyes was gone and Elisandra saw a wild, primal look that made her afraid. Her innocence was lost quickly and harshly to a man that sought only his pleasure on a night that was to be cherished by both. The gown that was so carefully made by her grandmother, lay torn in the floor, discarded absently and without care.

After Michael was through forcing her from childhood to womanhood, Elisandra crept into the bath to weep. She had nothing to compare what just happened to anything else, but somewhere deep inside, she knew it was wrong. She hurt and sought comfort from the only person she could, her newly betrothed. He lay sprawled across the bed, sleeping soundly. On her first night of marriage, Elisandra curled on the side of the bed and cried herself to sleep.

Columbus Drag Strip

I could go on for hours about how much fun I had at the drag races. I've never been to one and when my husband said that he wanted to go on Sunday, I was all for it. There were literally throngs of people there. All different kinds. Some people looked like they had just come from church, some looked like they were going hunting, some looked like they should be on a street corner. Man, it was cool. And the betting that was going on! Apparently, drag racing is quite a racket for betting.

What was even cooler than the people were the cars. Some looked like they could barely make it down the street, but when they got on the strip they shot off like rockets. Nitrous boosters and alcohol fuel! I've never seen anything like it. And it wasn't just cars! There were motorcycles, four-wheelers, trucks and even one kid that got to run down the track on a dirt bike. I took well over 100 pictures and as soon as I load in the video streams, I'll post those, too. It was so loud, I really think I lost hearing in my right ear. But, it was so worth it. Check it out:

Cool, huh? I have so many more pictures, but I think I'll load them into Flikr so you can see them all. I hope everyone had as much fun this weekend as I did!!
