I'm awake, and I don't really want to be, but I've got lots of pictures to share!

I don't know what's gotten into me! I've been sleeping well lately, but my hip started hurting tonight and I just HAD to get out of the bed. Remember how I told you all about my knee problems? Well, it doesn't affect just my knees, it gets a lot of my bones and since I have been preggers with the Pod, my hip is acting up. It's quite irritating, to be honest, because it only acts up really bad on days when I have already felt bad and have been lying down. I took some Tylenol earlier today and I don't want to take anymore, so I guess I'll just have to stick it out.

I will share a sneak into some of my new jewelry! I wanted to make a lot more today, but it just didn't happen. Miss Pinky has decided (after a little mom persuasion) to move into what used to be the guest bedroom. She gets a great, big bed and a MUCH larger room. She's decided to let the Pod take her smaller room. Especially since we bought her a neon pink, satin bedspread, she's all good. But, I did a little too much moving stuff over. Jewelry preview!

There are actually three new pieces in this group. And a sideways shot of my messy work area. I really like the way the necklace turned out. It's a bold piece without being overbearing with color. I think with the natural shells it's a much more elegant design. I also connected the pieces together with an unusual technique. I'm reopening the store Monday, April 7th, so stop by and see all the new stuff!

Okay, I know that I told you a while back about a dining room suit that hubs' grandmother left him when she passed. Well, we finally got it moved into the house! I'm still cleaning on it, but it's so beautiful and ornate!! I really didn't think I would like something with this much detailing, but it's really gorgeous. Pictures!

These are the side chairs and one of the captain's chairs. The leather on the seats is worn a little thin, but for being and 80 year old set, I think it looks pretty swell! Here is the buffet:

I just think this piece is magnificent. The way the front comes out to a point is just beautiful to me. Plus, all the detail in the woodwork is downright amazing. Here are some close ups:

A dear friend of mine loaned me this miracle cleaner/waxer to use on the furniture and it truly is amazing. I know with all the detail, the chairs will take me forever to polish and clean, but they are going to be so gorgeous when they are done. Here is the set together. Ignore my naked walls! i have things that are going there, I just haven't gotten that far yet. You can see the side chest (?) peeking out in the corner. I couldn't seem to get a great shot, but you get the idea. When the leaves are pulled out, it sits 8 comfortably.

Moving right along.

Well, since the air went out in the house we currently live in, we have made a mad dash to move into house #2. My dad came over to help and we now have a working kitchen!! OMG! I haven't had that in Y E A R S!!!!!! WOOOOOOO!

It's hot and a little slow going, but it's coming along just fine. I won't be on the computer much since we haven't moved it yet and I haven't switched the service to the other house yet. I can check it at work, so I may be able to stop in and say hello.

I have lots of things to tell you about and I can't wait to get back in the swing of things! WOOO! HUGS and love, love, love to you!

SUPER not nice!

After getting home from a 13 hour day, I walk in the door to hubby saying, "I have bad news. The air conditioner is out."

This is a SUPER, MEGA not nice! Ugh... I'll write more when I'm not sweating.

Stupid meteors.

I stayed up waaaaaaay too late last night hoping to see just one meteor. No such luck. That meant this morning was painful and I have a TON to do today. Sometimes, I am so irresponsible. On the bright side, we are getting our super awesome computerized mat cutter today. I can cut names out of mats with this thing. In fact, I can cut just about anything I want out of a mat with the CMC. My dad made an impromptu visit yesterday to check out the store and house#2 (which we still have not moved into, but that story is for another day) and he was happy with all that he saw.

I'm lacking coherent thought. I'm going to go drink my coffee and try to gather my brain for the day ahead. I have taxes to do, too. Blech.

What a week!

I can't believe that a week has nearly flown by on me! I've been so busy that I'm not really surprised, but it still doesn't feel like it.

Things are moving along at this odd breakneck/ super slow pace. I don't get it. I've been in a flurry, but things still seem to take too long to accomplish. It's coming together and the transfer of the business is only 2 days away!! House #2 is finished, except for the kitchen, and I've got to get moving on that, too. Don't ask me how I change hats so many times in a day because I just couldn't tell you.

I've made a few pieces of jewelry, but I've been hoarding them up to put in the store. I'm waiting to find out from my accountant what I need to do about my Pinky Shop on Etsy. I may have to close it, which would suck, or I may get to tuck it into the business I have now and keep on with it. I like the latter idea better.

Miss Pinky is with the grandparents, getting spoiled rotten I'm sure. But it's every grandparent's right to spoil the crap out of grandchildren. My 'rents do it well. She's been super cool about momma going back to work. Her biggest concern was if she could bring her crayons with her. I think that can be accomplished. :)

Tomorrow is Independence Day! We are having our annual throw down at TamiD's house. I'm required to spend obscene amounts of money on fireworks. Okay, not required, but MAN, do I love setting them off! Nothing sends me on a shopping spree like 2 for 1 sales at the fireworks stand. I was sick at New Year's and the guy that runs the place actually asked where I was! It's not like me to miss an opportunity to blow things up. He's already asked about me this year, so I better get up there soon or he'll think I've forgotten about him. Southern ways are sometimes really, really cool.

I suppose that's enough rambling from me. I have a million things to do, but I think I'm going to go chill out with a saucy romance novel instead. If I don't tell you later, I hope all you State side have a Happy 4th of July!!

Beach!

I'm HOME!!! I've been slammed today, otherwise I would have posted sooner. But, I'm trying to get us completely moved, prepare for my trip to Canada and finish the last bit of work on both houses. Oh, yes, I still have to finish my piece for the Spring Bead Challenge and create one that I will be putting up for auction at the Journey of Hope Benefit. All in TEN days!! What the hell was I thinking?

Hopefully, I will be able to update some this week. It's going to be nutty, but worth it in the end.

Instead of doing a big write up about all the crap we've done in the house, I'm just uploading pictures. Some of them are blurry because I never get to be behind the lens anymore. Here I am goofing off in the bathroom that we are still working on because we are tired of painting and don't want to lay in the floor to finish painting the cabinet:

The small desk is going to be my computer table and under the photo wall ( which I am NOT done with and that I adore more every day) will be my work table. That's where I'm going to put my beads, paints, etc. The last shot is of my fan just because I think it's the prettiest fan in the house.

The last day

Yesterday was Miss Pinky's last day of school! It's strange because I have worked almost all her life, I've never had a summer vacation with her. Ever! We're both going to have to figure this one out. I figure we will make tons of crafts, swim in the pool and just hang out. She's going to help me pack some more stuff up today and that will be good.

Speaking of, moving is going s l o w l y. We were doing alright, but then after going up and down the stairs a million times on Wednesday, my knees gave out. I went to work out on Thursday and I made it through one round, looked at the girl who works there and told her I was done. I tried and I know that I could have made it, but I would have really hurt myself. TamiD and I didn't do much yesterday, I laid around the rest of the day and still my knees are hurting. I really goosed them up good this time.

Tonight, this afternoon actually, we are going to the movies! We're going to see Pirates of the Caribbean!!! It's going to be a good one! Then, tomorrow night, TamiD is having a birthday party for me. Since I was out of town last weekend, we moved it to this weekend. Pool party!!!! Hot dogs, potato salad, whiskey and water! It's going to be FUN!! WOOOO! Hopefully, I will remember to bring my camera since I always forget it when it's a party! grrrrr at me!!

Moving right along

We're moving things into the house today! WOOOOOOOO! TamiD and I are rocking and rolling and getting things moving! I don't have much time to write this morning, I've been up since 5:30 and busy ever since!

I'm Alive!!

I'm still working on house #2, but it's the very end! Last little bit of painting and I'm already moving stuff in. Well, I'm moving my art in, not heavy crap. Hubby hurt his back so we might have to wait a little before the heavy crap gets moved.

I've been busy with my shop and as you all know, I surpassed my Etsy birthday goal of selling 100 pieces. I've sold 103 to date and looking to sell some more. I have some new designs and some really pretty stones that I have been working with. Like this!

Not much else has been going on. School for Miss Pinky, work out, paint, jewelry, dinner, bath, sleep. That's about it! Sad in a way. OH! At the last weigh day, I lost 2 pounds, one of which was pure body fat, and another 9.5 inches! That means I've lost 22 inches total!!!!! I lost 2 inches off each thigh and as most of you ladies know, that kicks ass. TamiD and I are doing a Splenda 6 week challenge and even though I don't care about winning the prize, I do care about finishing the challenge.

We got our new fridge and I love it!!! It's purty. I'm going to try to start catching up with everyone and blogging more often. I miss it. I miss everyone. :( But for now, I've got to get in the shower and go to sleep! I have another day of standing on a ladder tomorrow!!

I told my dad that I wouldn't post new pictures because he had to come over to see the house. BUT, I wanted to show you guys, so maybe he won't look. I doubt it, but maybe. We've got 2 new rugs, one for the living room one for the dining room, a new sectional sofa, the blinds are up (they're bamboo, too) and I got a cool new privacy screen and lamp. So here are the pictures to show you. Oh, yeah, I still have to make the draperies, so there will be something there soon. Also, I have boo-coodles of art that is going in there. This is just the nice bones of the it all. Ignore my hubby, he wouldn't move for the shots.

I'm going to recover the throw pillows, they are a little light colored for the room. They need a little more punch to them, I just haven't found the right fabric.

Detail of the privacy screen. We had planned on using this as it is intended, but when we hauled it out of the box at 56kgs, we decided to put it behind the sofa. It's really, really pretty and filled that blank space nicely. (and I don't have to try to move it ever again)



Dining room rug. We are getting the dining room set from Grandma C that passed away not too long ago. It's oak with very intricate carvings in it. I'll post pictures of that once I clean it and we get it settled.

Okay! There you are!! I finished wallpapering the kitchen, the new counter top in the bathroom went down, I organized Miss Pinky's room so that we just have to plop her bed in there when it's time and we're going to paint in my studio room today so that I can move into it soon, too. It's going well and going fast!! But for now, I've got to get Miss Pinky up for school and get ready myself. HUGS and tons of love!! ~Pinky!

Busy, busy!!

I've been super busy with the other house. Since we got the floors in, that means we can kick it into high gear getting everything finished and start moving in. I've been nuts!!! Sorry if I'm not around but I will check in when I can.

THE FLOORS ARE DONE!!!

I know I haven't been around much lately but it's been so busy here. The floors are done, done, DONE!! As of yesterday morning, they were completely done with the floors. I still can't get over how fast they worked! Excellent group of guys that I trusted and were impressed with their work. Here are the pictures! The carpet is a little hard to see, but you can get the idea.

Last Audition of the Day

The Floors are Coming TODAY!!!

Later this morning, they are going to be bringing the floors!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I'm going to have to take pictures. The floors have to stay in the house a few days before they can put them down so that the acclimate to the climate of the house. BUT, You'll be able to see it and I want to share!

We finished the trim yesterday!! Another WOOOO!! It took us five days solid to get it done. Two coats in oil paint. Man! But it looks pretty. We're not quite finished with that room because I am striping one wall. HA! You didn't know that did ya?? It's going to be in the khaki, the brown of the trim, a deeeeep orange color called Cedar Chest and a thin stripe of Organic Green! It will match this chair really well:

We're striping on the wall where you first come into the room, that way you don't see it when you are looking in, but it will accent the room once you are in it. It's going to take a little time, but I think it will look yummy!!

We still have to put in the counter tops, new fridge, etc. and finish some of the wallpaper (we ran out, boo!) But here is a before and after of the kitchen: (hold on to your hats!!)

QUICK POST!!!

I just wanted to show you some quick before/ after shots. I've got to get Miss Pinky up for school. We still have some trim to paint, but the big room is almost done. WOO!! Three days on a ladder and one more day of it today!

Big difference, huh? That's just the subflooring, but it gives you an idea of the color that will be on the hardwoods. The colors are khaki and phantom mist. Doesn't that sound cool??

Crazy..

I'm going to be sparse for the next few days. We're getting the floors in and TamiD and I are trying to finish the house so that we won't have to do it when the new floors go down. I'm sore as a mutha from standing on a ladder for two days, but it looks good. I am going to take my camera over there today so that I can take some shots for you.

OH! I feel like a lazy butt!

I do, I do. The pollen is high, my eyes are red and my hamstrings feel like someone went in there and shortened them. THEY HURT! But, I have lots of work to get done today!! I'm trying to make a decent dent in the painting in house #2 so that I can go visit with my parents a little during the last few days of Spring Break. I already told me dad that if we were getting the floors, I wouldn't be coming but I miss him so much! Miss Pinky is there now, playing to her hearts content. You know she's having a great week. :)

I made a wish list of beads last night that I want. Do you know what the total came to? Just shy of $200.00!! Oh, I could have added soooo many more. It's sad really. I have a lot of beads that I used in previous projects that I don't want to play with now. But it isn't in the budget for me to be getting a crap load of new beads, so I will be happy with the ones I have. Honestly, I have a lot I haven't used yet. It's just that these new ones are so shiny and happy!! (pouts, just a little)

Ch-Ch-CHANGES!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself! HA! I like this blog layout and color much better, the other one was a little too gloomy for me. Okay, I have TWO big things to tell you and then I have to get my butt out the door.

1. I had the weigh in yesterday. I didn't lose not ONE SINGLE POUND. sigh.... BUT! I did lose TWELVE AND A HALF INCHES OFF MY BODY!! WOOOOOOOO!!! That's a whole FOOT!! My dad called me a shape shifter and I think that's about right!! Awesome, huh?!? TamiD lost 2.25 pounds and 23 1/2 inches!! HOLY CRAP!! Needles to say, we were really freaking happy. Not bad for one month!

2. I'm going to order the new floors today!! HOORAY isn't enough for my excitement!! That means we will actually be able to start moving in the house soon! OMG, I think I might faint from happiness. Bamboo floors here I come!!

That's what is going on! But getting the floors means TamiD and I have to go paint all the trim in the big room, NOW. It's all in oil paint and I would fall out if I dripped oil base on my new floors. FALL OUT, I tell you! So, I've got to get my (smaller) butt in gear and get to work!
