I did something cool today!

I CUT OFF ALL MY HAIR!!

Seriously, I did. I'm donating it to Locks Of Love! They are a non-profit organization that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to any number of illnesses. You have to have at least 10 inches to donate and we cut just over 11 off my hair! WOW! And because my hair is so thick, we had to cut it into two pony tails so that more of my hair will actually be used! I'm so excited!! Here are the before and afters (not one word about my pudgy arms, I'm working on it!):

I took the last picture at home and even though it's a little dark , ahem DAD, it's a pretty good shot of how it looks. What I can't wait to see is what it will look like after I wash it. My hair actually has a lot of curl to it, but it's been so long, and I had to condition it so much, all the curl just about pulled out of it. SO I know when I wash it, it's going to be crazy with curls!!! Well, I guess I better start working on dinner. Hugs-N-Luv!! ~Pinky!

The Floors are Coming TODAY!!!

Later this morning, they are going to be bringing the floors!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I'm going to have to take pictures. The floors have to stay in the house a few days before they can put them down so that the acclimate to the climate of the house. BUT, You'll be able to see it and I want to share!

We finished the trim yesterday!! Another WOOOO!! It took us five days solid to get it done. Two coats in oil paint. Man! But it looks pretty. We're not quite finished with that room because I am striping one wall. HA! You didn't know that did ya?? It's going to be in the khaki, the brown of the trim, a deeeeep orange color called Cedar Chest and a thin stripe of Organic Green! It will match this chair really well:

We're striping on the wall where you first come into the room, that way you don't see it when you are looking in, but it will accent the room once you are in it. It's going to take a little time, but I think it will look yummy!!

We still have to put in the counter tops, new fridge, etc. and finish some of the wallpaper (we ran out, boo!) But here is a before and after of the kitchen: (hold on to your hats!!)

AFTER!!!!!

Okay, I'm off again! Have a Happy Friday!!! ~Pinky!

QUICK POST!!!

I just wanted to show you some quick before/ after shots. I've got to get Miss Pinky up for school. We still have some trim to paint, but the big room is almost done. WOO!! Three days on a ladder and one more day of it today!

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Big difference, huh? That's just the subflooring, but it gives you an idea of the color that will be on the hardwoods. The colors are khaki and phantom mist. Doesn't that sound cool??

Okay, I've farted around long enough, I have to go. HUGS and much love to everyone!! ~PINKY!

3.21.2007

Crazy..

I'm going to be sparse for the next few days. We're getting the floors in and TamiD and I are trying to finish the house so that we won't have to do it when the new floors go down. I'm sore as a mutha from standing on a ladder for two days, but it looks good. I am going to take my camera over there today so that I can take some shots for you.

Hope everyone is doing well and I will post soon, visit later. HUGS-N-luv ~ Pinky!

I've Been Tagged!! TWICE!!

Amber tagged me for a MeMe and then she tagged me to show off my studio. I feel obliged to finally get up off my tush and answer her. HUGS, Amber!! First up, my studio, a.k.a. "The Hovel". It's a small, unfinished (big surprise there) room off the kitchen. It's tiny, but it's mine!

I have SO many more photos to put up, but I don't have enough frames, or the right ones, so they sit in protective places until I can get them to their home. Much like Amber, I have a sewing machine still in the box, too!! Just begging to be used. The big pink thing was a shoe organizer for Miss Pinky, but it works soooo much better as a tool organizer for me! Now, on to the MeMe!!

1. I can cross just one eye if I want to. I can do it on both eyes and do it fast so that sometimes my eyes end up going in opposite directions!

2. I have a horrible, and probably irrational, fear of roaches. Seriously. I'm not kidding at all about this. The freak me the $&^# OUT!

3. After all the knee surgeries, I STILL wish that they had made me bionic. How cool would that be???

4. I hate the way glass glasses smell when they come out of the dishwasher. I don't even own glass glasses because I hate it so bad.

5. I play a hand held Solitaire game every night before I go to bed. For the last seven years.

Whew! That was hard!! I've done so many other MeMe's, I thought I was out of things to spill. Guess not! So who's next?? I tag: Rebecca, Mrs. Kwitty, Pavel and G!! Start spilling!!
I have just come to the sad, and very depressing, realization that I am going to have to go back to work. There just isn't enough money to go around. Not for me anyway. Etsy is my sole support to pay my bills, do the grocery shopping and take care of whatever Miss Pinky needs. It was good for a while, but I'm low, really low, on funds and I'm truly about to cry. To get my passport to go see Amber is $97.00 and I don't have it. Hubby is funding the trip as a Mother's Day/ birthday thing so it seems unfair to ask him.

Sorry about being so craptacular, I'm just really upset about this and I needed to unload. I don't want anyone to try to fix this, just had to get it off my chest.

Hugs-N-Luv ~ Pinky.

I'm going to CANADA!!

Well, not today. Today I am going to Alabama. I don't know if any of you have been keeping up with Amber's blog(s) and her sister's struggles with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a debilitating disease that affects women during pregnancy. I have links to the Her Foundation to the left where you can read more about it. Amber started another blog called Journey of Hope. It is dedicated to raising awareness about HG and trying to get doctors to take this more seriously.

In June, Amber's sister is going on a Journey of Hope by walking 120 miles from London, Ontario to Toronto. This walk is a symbol of the struggles these women go through and it will hopefully raise awareness. HG is terrible, just terrible and if you read Janis' story it will have you sobbing. These women are amazing. At the end of the 120 mile walk, there is a charity dinner and auction to raise funds for research, and hopefully a cure to HG. There are several artist that are donating work for the auction but I felt compelled to take it a step further.

I discussed all this with hubby and in June I will be flying to Toronto to be there for the end of the walk and the charity dinner. Amber has supported me through some VERY rough times in my life. She has listened to me rant, cry, be terrified and a multitude of other emotions. What she and her sister are doing is HUGE and there is no way that I wouldn't do everything I could to be there with them during this. Plus, I just want to see her. :)

I know that there are a lot of links but please take the time to look through some of them so that you can get an understanding of what life is like for these women. If you can donate time, money or art. You can always contact Amber via the Journey of Hope blog. HG is a disease, it is harmful and because two unbelievable sisters joined forces, maybe the world will start to help.

My love ~ Pinky!

OH! I feel like a lazy butt!

I do, I do. The pollen is high, my eyes are red and my hamstrings feel like someone went in there and shortened them. THEY HURT! But, I have lots of work to get done today!! I'm trying to make a decent dent in the painting in house #2 so that I can go visit with my parents a little during the last few days of Spring Break. I already told me dad that if we were getting the floors, I wouldn't be coming but I miss him so much! Miss Pinky is there now, playing to her hearts content. You know she's having a great week. :)

I made a wish list of beads last night that I want. Do you know what the total came to? Just shy of $200.00!! Oh, I could have added soooo many more. It's sad really. I have a lot of beads that I used in previous projects that I don't want to play with now. But it isn't in the budget for me to be getting a crap load of new beads, so I will be happy with the ones I have. Honestly, I have a lot I haven't used yet. It's just that these new ones are so shiny and happy!! (pouts, just a little)

Okay, I'll leave you with a picture and wishes that you have a happy day! I'm going to paint my little heart out so that we can get those new floors WOO! Hugs-N-Luv, Pinky!

Ch-Ch-CHANGES!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself! HA! I like this blog layout and color much better, the other one was a little too gloomy for me. Okay, I have TWO big things to tell you and then I have to get my butt out the door.

1. I had the weigh in yesterday. I didn't lose not ONE SINGLE POUND. sigh.... BUT! I did lose TWELVE AND A HALF INCHES OFF MY BODY!! WOOOOOOOO!!! That's a whole FOOT!! My dad called me a shape shifter and I think that's about right!! Awesome, huh?!? TamiD lost 2.25 pounds and 23 1/2 inches!! HOLY CRAP!! Needles to say, we were really freaking happy. Not bad for one month!

2. I'm going to order the new floors today!! HOORAY isn't enough for my excitement!! That means we will actually be able to start moving in the house soon! OMG, I think I might faint from happiness. Bamboo floors here I come!!

That's what is going on! But getting the floors means TamiD and I have to go paint all the trim in the big room, NOW. It's all in oil paint and I would fall out if I dripped oil base on my new floors. FALL OUT, I tell you! So, I've got to get my (smaller) butt in gear and get to work! Hope everyone has a good day and I'll check back in later! Hugs-N-Luv ~ Pinky!

Weekend Review, sorta...

There isn't much to report from this weekend, thus the title. I did get a TON of new jewelry made and that is really cool. I also added a widget to my sidebar that links directly to my Etsy shop, very neat and hopefully, profitable. Here are some of the new pieces:

Eye of the Beholder 2
(there is a bracelet that matches!)

Just Peachy

Metal Mania

The Metal Mania is one of my favorites. I've been wanting to do that one for a while and I finally got around to it. The Just Peachy one and another one I didn't put on here are some that I did to push my boundaries. They aren't something I normally create and that's why I did it. I think it's good to push every now and then. I did finish this for a charity auction coming up and I honestly didn't want to give it up. It's Russian Jade with gorgeous silver, pear shaped spacers and just for kicks, I put an elephant toggle clasp on it. Man, it looks hot. I have to get it in the mail, it's past time for me to mail it but it's been a little nutty around here.

I guess that's about it. Today is the weigh day at Curves. It's been one month since we started working out and I'm a little nervous. It seems silly, but I am. I know that I have lost inches, but it still makes me feel poked and prodded. Also, I gain muscle mass quickly so a lot of times it will say that I have gained weight, which I am okay with, but the people that run the place may not be. Heh, I'll update in comments later.

Hope everyone has a really cool day. School's out, weather's hot, and I'm taking it easy. My love ~ Pinky!

Things I want to say...

But I just can't seem to get it out. There are so many thoughts swirling in my head. This past week has been a blur of cough medicine and an extreme lack of sleep. I haven't had any time to work on jewelry although I have plenty of ideas jumping up and down just screaming to be brought to life. I also have been thinking about music and I wanted to talk about that. But all I seem to be able to do is ramble through a day, stay up impossibly late not doing anything because my brain is fogged by medicine, getting up and doing it all over again. I've gotten some wonderful things in the mail by Amber and Mrs. Kwitty and I have by dying to talk about that. **Side note: if you haven't been to their shops, or their blogs, go do it now. I can wait. You will see love, caring and amazingly talented women and you will be glad to meet them.** Also, things have been going on with house #2, Baby Pinky and well, I just want to share. I'm doing pieces for some auctions, a contest and maybe even one for me! OH! I did make myself a pearl necklace the other day. Actually it was for Grandma C's funeral. I didn't have any and that just seemed silly, so I made me a necklace! G, you are right, there is nothing quite like a simple statement in pearls.

But in all my rambling, I haven't really said anything. Sigh....... sometimes I make myself tired. I am about to go get Baby Pinky and take her to the hair salon. She is getting her hair chopped off and we are SO excited! Also, this is the last day of school before Spring Break!! WOO!! I'll take a picture of her so you can see the new 'do, I just know it's going to be darling on her.

Alright, I'm otta here. Hugs-N-Luv ~ Pinky!

UPDATE!!
Here is Baby Pinky's new hairdo and she doesn't look much like a baby anymore!

New Work!

My two newest pieces! If you want to know what the first one is, then click the picture to go to my shop. OR I could just tell you that it's a new scarf that I made! It's snuggly and fuzzy and SUPER soft!! And looooong. I made this one a touch over 5 feet! And the bracelet just reminded me of spring. Happy colors and clear skies all the way.

The past few days have been really busy for us, so I'm sorry I haven't stopped by or updated! Grandma C's funeral was on Friday and it was really beautiful. We ate dinner at her house, which was a small miracle in itself because it has been shut up for 17 years. Stunning place, steeped in history. I got a chance to really get to know her better, I had never met her in person because she had been so ill the last four or five years. It was a bittersweet day but beautifully done.

I took a week off from house #2 because I was starting to hate it over there. I figured if I took some time, maybe I wouldn't have to urge to get my gun and shoot the paint cans off the porch. Yeah, it was getting to that point. So, we're back over there today. Sigh, I don't think I'm ready, but hey, what can I do.

Alright, I've got to get moving or this day is going to start without me. Hope everyone is well and I will check back in later today!! HUGS and love ~ Pinky!
